A client stopped by to see about adding some speakers to his brand new 2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. We have done a number of Harley-Davidson bag lid speaker upgrades, so we told him that part was no problem. In addition to the bag lids, he also wanted to upgrade the front fairing speakers and add an amplifier to power the new speakers. We mentioned to the client that we could use our TechnoResearch programmer to flash his Harley-Davidson radio to flatten the bad eq curve, but he told us that was already done.
Harley-Davidson Amplifier and Fairing Speakers.
The client brought some speakers to be installed in the front fairing. He had heard them on a friend’s bike and wanted the same. We disassembled the fairing to gain access to the speakers and also the mounting location of the amplifier. With the speaker upgrade complete we moved onto installing the amplifier. To provide the speakers with lots of power we chose the ARC Audio Moto720 amplifier. The low profile of the ARC amplifier allows for it to fit under the fairing, right above the factory radio.
Harley-Davidson Bag Lid Speaker Installation
The final part of the project was to install the new Rockford Fosgate bag lid speaker upgrade. We begin the process by removing the bags from the bike. Once off the bike and safely placed on soft blankets, we removed the lids from the bags. The Rockford Fosgate bag kit comes with templates for cutting the holes in the lids, we used those templates to carefully cut the bag lid holes. Now that we had the holes cut, we then assembled the speaker brackets and grilles. Finally, we were able to reassemble the bags and wire them up.
Great Sounding Harley-Davidson Audio
With all the speakers installed, it was time for us to adjust the settings on the amplifiers. We setup the amp so the client’s audio would be loud and clear. The additional set of speakers and the upgrade in power made a huge difference in the sound of this bike. We stock speaker and amp upgrades for a wide range of motorcycles. Stop by or contact us online if you are interested in finding out the options for your bike.
