We have been doing more and more bikes lately here at Pinnacle Autosound. We were approached by this client about upgrading the fairing speakers as well as adding speakers to his bag lids. For the Harley-Davidson Road Glide speaker upgrades on this bike we recommended speakers by JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate.
Harley-Davidson Road Glide Speaker Upgrade
In the front fairing of this Road Glide, we replaced the aging factory speakers with JL Audio C2 coaxial speakers. These speakers work great on bikes because they are constructed of materials that hold up well in the weather. In addition to handling the elements, they don’t require a ton of power to play loudly. With the front speakers replaced we moved on to the rear bag lids. We used the Rockford Fosgate Power series bag lid speaker kit. This kit provides everything needed to convert the bag lids for accepting the new speakers. The kit comes with a great sounding set of Rockford Fosgate 6×9’s and grilles and mounting hardware that makes the lids look like they came from the factory with speakers in them.
Harley-Davidson Amplifier Upgrade
To make sure the client was able to hear his new speakers clearly while riding, we also added an amplifier to his bike. To fit in the small spaces underneath the front fairing we went with a JL Audio MX280/4 amplifier. This little amplifier packs plenty of power and doesn’t tax the bike’s charging system. Another great feature of this amplifier is that it is completely sealed, making it a great choice for bikes, because it is impervious to the elements.
Lake City’s Harley-Davidson Stereo Experts
Once we had all the gear installed and neatly wired, we spent some time setting up the amplifier to give the client the best sound possible. The result was a bike that would not only sound good sitting at a stoplight, but also when riding. If you are interested in upgrading the stereo system on your Harley-Davidson (or other bikes!), give us a call or contact us online.
