With all the water that surrounds Lake City, Florida, it is natural for many residence to have boats. Time on the open water is certainly fun. What makes it better is being able to take your music with you. That is just what the owner of this large center console boat wanted. Let’s look at what went into this fishing boat audio system.
For good sound coverage on a boat this large we had to use a number of speakers. Because this boat saw salt water we had to go with our most reliable marine brand, Wet Sounds for all the speakers. Wet Sounds is the premier marine speaker company, and with good reason, they sound great and are very durable. To make sure there was great sound everywhere, we installed 3 pair of Wet Sounds SW-808 coaxial speakers. Powering the speakers is a Wet Sounds 6 channel amplifier. The output and clarity of these speakers is amazing. To further augment the low end response, we added 2 Wet Sounds SW-10FA Subwoofers to the center console. These subwoofers are designed to use the air in the console as their enclosure. With 700 watts of Wet Sounds power, these subwoofers ROCK. As we mentioned at the start, this client wanted to be able to listen to his music on the boat. We gave him a number of different ways to do this, all of them controlled by a Rockford Fosgate RFX-MR5BB Media Player. The media player gives the client the ability to listen to AM, FM, music on a USB device, Bluetooth audio, and anything that has an 1/8″ stereo jack. He now has access to almost an unlimited source of music!
When the client first heard his boat he was blown away. He loved how loud and clear the music was from any place on the boat. He couldn’t wait to get out on the water with it! If you have a boat and want to either add or upgrade the audio system, give us a call or contact us here for more information.
